We are starting to learn about how to balance equations so that we do not break the Law of Conservation of Mass. Check out page 324 in your textbook to help you understand that a bit more. Also, check out the powerpoint below.
We are speeding through review of how to name ionic compounds. The answers for the Compound Review can be found here and the answers for the Introduction to Stoichiometry worksheet can be found here. The quiz on Friday will be combining the knowledge of naming compounds and writing chemical equations.
Today, we read a short paper about fats and oils and we reviewed it. Then, a review sheet for compounds was handed out along with a worksheet. Check below for everything you'll need!
We are currently learning how to interpret word problems to write them as chemical equations. Today, we reviewed Quiz 7 (answers posted under Past Quizzes and Tests) and started to go over the answers for the Intro to Stoichiometry worksheet (found in the post below).
Finally gave a name to what we have been doing the past few weeks! Stoichiometry is just a fancy word for the math involved in chemistry. We started to learn how to write chemical equations from sentences so check out the worksheet that was passed out as well!
We went over Measuring Matter II worksheet and had a review game. The Quiz 7 Review Sheet will be due tomorrow before the quiz. If you need any of the worksheets, please check below and in previous posts!
Here are the answers to the Quiz 7 Review Sheet. Please use this as a guide to check over your answers, not just to copy them. That will NOT prepare you for the quiz. Also check out the powerpoint for some extra guidance!
Continued with the Quiz 7 Review! Quiz Thursday!
No quiz tomorrow! The reason for that is because we need to make sure we build a strong foundation of this material before we can move onto the other sections of the unit. Check out the slideshow from today to review!
